| 16:25:28 | <Liskni_si> | mc47: how do you define "possible" ? |
| 16:26:39 | <mc47> | Liskni_si anything that doesn't require a huge rewrite I guess |
| 16:30:43 | <Liskni_si> | then I'd expect the answer to probably be no :-) |
| 16:30:56 | <Liskni_si> | (but I don't know much about trays) |
| 16:31:40 | tomjagua1paw | is now known as tomjaguarpaw |
| 16:34:51 | <heck-to-the-gnom> | if you mean to make one, then it'd likely take a big change, seeing as it's a text-based bar, for the most part. But, integrating one, I think that could be done, seeing as you have the split xmobar approach. We'd just have to implement a size detection method, and add a hook that forces all trays of certain type into a certain location (preferably from dynamicloghook) that xmobar makes available through window hints |
| 16:34:51 | <heck-to-the-gnom> | or something. |
| 16:36:52 | <mc47> | That's kinda the way to use trayer with xmobar right now. But the script is not really visible |
| 16:36:59 | <mc47> | I found it by pure chance |
| 16:37:33 | <mc47> | (talking about this https://github.com/jaor/xmobar/issues/239#issuecomment-233206552) |

| 17:08:18 | <heck-to-the-gnom> | I found that one too. And DT (the youtube xmonad guy - everyone calls him) also found that, that's where I saw it originally, actually |
| 17:09:08 | <heck-to-the-gnom> | Also, I wonder if that could be implemented into a module, one that could work like the alsa module, meaning it's seamless, with no interval and offset to worry about. |
| 17:11:37 | <Liskni_si> | That should be doable |

| 17:36:19 | <heck-to-the-gnom> | Does anyone know why `W.Stack` isn't equivalent to `flip W.Stack`? -- not programmatically, I mean the logical implementation: `Stack f u d` instead of the more logical (imo) `Stack u f d`? I would also say why is u not reversed, but I think that's due to performance benefits of not reversing it. e.g `a : b` is better than `b <> [a]` performance-wise. |
| 17:41:38 | <Solid> | I'm not sure what you mean |
| 17:41:53 | <Solid> | Of course `Stack l f r` is isomorphic to `Stack f l r` |
| 17:43:34 | <Solid> | I guess the thinking is "there's some stuff to the left of the focus, then the focus, and then stuff to the right" |
| 17:44:40 | <geekosaur> | I think it's modeled after the original zipper package |
| 17:46:43 | <heck-to-the-gnom> | Solid: It's implemented as focus, left, right, instead of what I find more logical: left, focus, right - which I find more reasonable, and remap when I use `W.Stack` |
| 17:46:43 | <Solid> | mh actually Huet's paper also says "Node of tree list * path * tree list;;" |
| 17:47:01 | <Solid> | I'm not sure why the focus was put as the first field then |
