| 05:22:04 | <Solid> | elonsroadster[m]: not the functions itself, I meant more the module as a whole |
| 05:22:21 | <Solid> | it contains a tiny example of how to use spacingRaw in some unknown configuration and that's about it |
| 05:25:15 | <elonsroadster[m]> | Solid just not sure I understand why you keep trying the undeprecation to documentation |
| 05:25:20 | <elonsroadster[m]> | Seems like separate concerns to me |
| 05:27:34 | <Solid> | I think you misunderstood me; I was saying that more documentation may help users to actually understand what spacingRaw is supposed to be and not trip up on it |
| 05:27:48 | <Solid> | this is orthogonal to undeprecating these functions yes |
| 05:28:04 | <Solid> | (but it still serves the same end goal of a more understandable module for users) |

| 07:42:40 | <dminuoso> | geekosaur: Thanks again. My issue was that in weechat with `/mouse enable`, the middle mouse buttom would keep pasting. I now realized that the raw mode that xfce4-terminal provides seems to be "broken", because it wont pass the middle mouse click through to the raw terminal application. |
| 07:42:54 | <dminuoso> | Switching to a different terminulator helped. |
| 07:43:20 | <dminuoso> | The more I deal with terminal emulators, the more disgusted I am, by the sheer inconsistency between all of them |
| 07:43:54 | <dminuoso> | Why cant I have a snappy lightweight terminal emulator with terminfo entries on standard linux installations, with support for ligatures? |
| 07:44:26 | <dminuoso> | Terminal emulators seem to have a choice: ["lightweight", "ligature support", "portable"] - pick two of them. |

| 09:35:11 | <Tisoxin> | mc47: when i recompile there is no special message |
| 09:35:35 | <Tisoxin> | though there is a weird „Aug 24 11:35:00 ori xsession[2598329]: Sandbox: attempt to open unexpected file /proc/self/maps“ message printed around every second |
| 09:35:45 | <Tisoxin> | but that probably has nothing to do with xmonad |
| 09:35:50 | <mc47> | probably not |
| 09:35:55 | <Tisoxin> | (i investigated my journalctl) |
| 09:35:57 | <mc47> | is there anything xmonad-related there? |
| 09:36:24 | <mc47> | because xmonad does print to stderr when it's recompiled |
| 09:36:36 | <mc47> | if there's nothing there, you probably need to look somewhere else |
| 09:36:53 | <Tisoxin> | https://pastebin.com/0fuweSva |

| 16:10:37 | <geekosaur> | notify-send would be in /usr/bin. if xmobar is elsewhere (say, ~/.local/bin) it wouldn't be found |
| 16:11:08 | <geekosaur> | and setting PATH in your shell startup files wouldn't help because X startup doesn't read them |
| 16:11:26 | <Tisoxin> | yes, but `which xmobar` wouldn't give me the right path, would it? |
| 16:11:59 | <geekosaur> | that should give the right path, yes, and hopefully you could specify it |
| 16:12:13 | <Tisoxin> | well, it does give the right path… |
| 16:12:37 | <Tisoxin> | (`/etc/profiles/per-user/vherrmann/bin/xmobar`, since i use nixos) |
| 16:19:30 | <liskin> | Might be worth making a patch adding a shit ton of logging and have Tisoxin run that |
| 16:20:25 | <Tisoxin> | na |
| 16:20:37 | <Tisoxin> | Only if another person has the same issue |
| 16:20:59 | <liskin> | Fair enough |
| 16:21:05 | <Tisoxin> | As long as only I had it, it could very well be caused by some weird configuration issue (of my nixos system) |
| 16:21:15 | <Tisoxin> | s/had/have/ |
| 16:23:26 | <liskin> | There was this guy a couple months ago with a weird problem and I was in an especially cheerful mood so I had him send me a full VM image of his setup and although it obviously ended up being a simple PEBKAC we did discover a serious bug somewhere else making the whole exercise worth it in the end. ;-) |
