09:21:02 <liskin> Solid: fair enough :-)
09:22:02 <liskin> (I'm assuming you mean the repairability, because the keyboard thing doesn't really have a solution these days)
09:51:09 <haskellbridge> <Solid> Yeah I mean the repairability. I almost exclusively use my Atreus these days (which is small enough so that I can even take it with me while travelling), so a good keyboard is not a top priority anymore—although I will miss it :(
13:09:31 <liskin> Yeah, the Atreus seems to go in the opposite direction of where I'd like to see keyboards go, having even less keys than laptops these days :-D
13:31:31 <Solid> layers are fun I swear :D
13:35:31 <fizzie> How about a stacked keyboard, organ-console-style? Just call it "reifying the layers" or something.
13:38:09 <fizzie> "Introducing the ultimate multitasker's dream: our stacked keyboard revolutionizes your workflow by reifying the layers! Say goodbye to modifier keys and hello to seamless efficiency. 💡🚀 #StackedKeyboard #EfficiencyUnleashed #NoMoreModifiers"
13:38:30 <fizzie> (Courtesy of the neighbouring AI-bot.)
14:20:44 <Solid> lol
14:21:13 <Solid> A stacked keyboard would require me to move my fingers off the home-row—something that I want to avoid :>
14:28:34 <mc47> I would love to see you code on that thing Solid
14:28:55 <mc47> I'm already running out of keybinding combinations that I'll actually remember
14:31:37 <Solid> mc47: Especially coding is actually a lot more comfortable! Things like "tapping Control is (", "tapping Alt is [", "tapping Shift-Alt is {", and so on means I never have to move my fingers very far (and Emacs takes care of the respective closing delimiter)
14:31:56 <Solid> For numbers I just hold down a button with my right thumb, and have a numpad-like cluster on my left hand etc.
14:32:02 <Solid> It's great :D
14:33:14 <mc47> Definitely got my interest, but doesn't look that gamer-friendly so it'll wait a bit
14:35:29 <Solid> Yeah gaming is one domain where I think you'll be better off with a standard-size keyboard (or like a ≥ 65%)
14:54:03 liskin uses an external keyboard for gaming anyway, don't wanna destroy the laptop one by smashing it too hard :-)
