01:21:33 <geekosaur> acidbong, if you use `launch` you must have a config from somewhere, otherwise you get the default (as with `xmonad def`). it will not use your xmonad.hs. I haven't used that workflow in a couple decades, but did back when I ran a highly customized KDE3 environment (but `launch` didn't exist back then so I ran `xmonad-x86_64-linux` directly instead).

16:57:09 <fizzie> The `className` property tests against the resource class, aka the second string of WM_CLASS, so "d2se.exe" per your xprop.

16:59:35 <fizzie> That's className, not WM_NAME.

17:00:06 <fizzie> Well, same thing.
17:00:10 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> So how do I target the Diablo II WM_NAME exactly?
17:00:41 <fizzie> Use `name` where it now says `className`. Like you do up there on line 123.
17:00:59 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Ohhh
17:01:01 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> It's that easy?
17:01:09 <fizzie> (Or else keep it as className or replace "Diablo II" by "d2se.exe".)
17:01:27 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> I just explained why I can't use D2SE
17:02:26 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Brilliant. Using 'name' works. I see how this is linked together now
17:02:35 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Thank you very much my friend. Happy friday!
17:06:35 <fizzie> Oh, missed the part about the launcher vs. the game. Sure. And yeah, that's using the local definition of `name`. There's also a `title` query that's exported from XMonad, that should also work: https://hackage.haskell.org/package/xmonad-0.18.0/docs/XMonad-ManageHook.html#v:title -- though I guess you might as well stick with what works.

17:23:08 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> You should be able to see it on IRC side
17:23:23 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Should be a matrix.org type link
17:23:44 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> https://matrix-client.matrix.org/_matrix/media/v3/download/matrix.org/qqnIucdBfUrrpTjuQfJZUseB?allow_redirect=true
17:24:10 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Yessir, regular wine in Ubuntu 22, 64bit prefix in .wine and 32 in .wine32
17:24:32 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> I have got even Mod Organizer 2 and Skyrim with SKSE working Linux
17:24:36 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Warcraft II
17:24:40 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Morrowind
17:24:54 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Retroarch with every console/rom in existence, all mame roms
17:24:57 <liskin> Right, the last image went through
17:25:06 <liskin> Interesting, maybe I should try again then
17:25:07 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> I got just about everything. No modern consoles though. I 'm old. I don't enjoy new games
17:25:12 <liskin> Anyway, gotta go, sry
17:25:23 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> It's me HB
17:25:33 <liskin> I see!
17:25:37 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> I just have a smaller nick now cuz you guys didn't like the long nick with certifications on IRC
17:25:38 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> 🙂
17:26:01 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> I am considerate of the community. This is my 2nd account. My normal account is HB.
17:28:15 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Also got Path of E xile working on Linux.
17:28:35 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> I don't game much though, just checking things out with the new RTX 3060 I got a year ago. I only did AI but now checking out some games.

17:30:13 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Here is Mod Organizer 2 for Skyrim on Linux/Wine
17:30:18 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> I'm using Proton with STEAM
17:32:41 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> https://matrix-client.matrix.org//b0b98da2/Screenshot_20240426_113229.png
17:33:00 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> It seems to work. Slowly but working
17:47:19 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> https://matrix-client.matrix.org//db697309/Screenshot_20240426_114644.png
17:47:45 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Finally loaded, but works fast. I have a 5800X CPU, RTX 3060 and 64GB DDR4 and 2TB NVME 5Gbit
17:48:37 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> So here's something I need to figure out
17:48:54 <haskellbridge> <system> file Screenshot_20240426_114844.png too big to download (1492395 > allowed size: 1000000)
17:48:55 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Screenshot_20240426_114844.png
17:49:04 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> https://matrix-client.matrix.org/_matrix/media/v3/download/matrix.org/BSiLNCsxHCfNyPPIhqMITUeu?allow_redirect=true
17:50:28 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> This mod however, does not use A high res patch like my mod does.
17:50:29 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> So this window name is also Diablo II. And this one gets fullscreened and unfloated and looks like this when sunk
17:50:30 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> So is there a way to launch some program and manually give it a name/class etc?
17:50:31 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> So I can tag diff windows and target them?
17:52:53 <geekosaur> only if the program itself supports it
17:53:39 <geekosaur> many (not all) legacy X11 programs support `-name` (but no way to set the class); many (but not all) gtk and qt programs offer `--name` and `--class`
17:54:01 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> I see. I can try it.
17:55:10 <geekosaur> if you're running stuff in wine, you're probably out of luck

17:56:45 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Darn
17:58:09 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> With some settings with the D2GL plugin, you can setup custom resolution, center window in screen, then stretch horizontally to fit width. Makes it look fullscreen without being fullscreen. Nice.

20:30:16 <geekosaur> ugh
20:30:30 <geekosaur> pneumonia is rarely "just"
22:14:49 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Glad you're better!
22:15:00 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> I just had a two level disc replacement in my cervical spine, recovering now
22:15:21 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> A month before spinal surgery I had a Zenker's Diverticulum repair, endoscopid surgery
22:15:40 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> I got one more esophageal surgery and then hoping I'll be better
22:16:14 <geekosaur> sounds like I should feel lucky I just have a pulled shoulder
22:16:36 <geekosaur> (ignoring my sensory issues which have been playing up again of late)
22:16:59 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Sound?
22:17:01 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Light?
22:17:18 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> I got light and sound that do a number on me.
22:17:54 <geekosaur> pretty much everything. (there's over 90 senses, most of which are for the body to monitor itself)
22:18:35 <geekosaur> sound and light certainly. pain/nociception has been common of late, also some proprioception (which means I'm really clumsy at times)
22:19:45 <geekosaur> itching is also common
22:20:19 <geekosaur> most of it's just annoying, but having to hide in the dark wearing sunglasses is no bueno
22:21:14 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> I can't imagine. Sorry
22:21:23 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> I now take Abilify for autism
22:21:31 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Well, irritability associated with autism
22:21:44 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Before I was on risperidal and that was a miracle drug for me
22:21:55 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Howevet caused weight gain and gynocomastea
22:22:19 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> So I stopped taking it. Abilify has same features but less side effects as reported by people so let's find out
22:22:38 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Without medication, I get severely irritable and have autism episodes daily. sometimes multiple tiems a day
22:22:55 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Constantly irritable, can't function, always upset, always about soemthing, angry, irritated, go from zero to 100 in a split second
22:22:59 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Highly reactive.
22:23:13 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> On medication, calmer than a Hindu cow. You could annoy me and I wouldn't give a shit.
22:23:27 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Everyone said I was better. I felt better.
22:23:34 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Hoping abilify can do the same.
22:24:17 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> In fact you even have witnessed a few of my autism episodes
22:24:33 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Doing better than before, but still much work to be done
22:25:24 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> For me it's mainly sound. Certain noises pain me. Certain types of music physically pain me.
22:25:37 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Anyway, glad to be alive still.
22:26:22 <geekosaur> I rarely have reactions to specific lights/sounds, usually I just overload *really* easily
22:26:56 <geekosaur> (exception: nearby sirens throw off my vestibular system completely. the world literally flips sideways and back)
22:28:25 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> But hey, at least we're very smart people. More than average
22:28:38 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> Comes with the territory. Haskell isn't easy. Xmonad isn't easy. You're an expert.
22:29:14 <haskellbridge> <Nexilva> I am good at other things. Guitar. Programming in other languages. etc. etc. problem solving is really my thing
23:34:29 <haskellbridge> <7actose> I was reading the configuration tutorial and saw the ewmhFullscreen combinator makes fullscreen actually fullscreen. Is there a way to still get the fake fullscreen functionality even with this? It would be cool to allow for both
